Do Something New With These Be The Change Project Ideas

The world is changing. With those changes, we need and are welcoming new ideas and opportunities. That’s right, we are now living in the era of ideas. We need new ideas to meet the changing needs of those we live and work with and around. If you would like to be at the forefront of this change and help your communities, then it is time to pursue some ideas and projects that help you be the change. Below, we look at Be the Change Project Ideas to help you do just that.

Be the Change Project Ideas to Help You Usher In The Tech Pivot Make An Impact

As intimated, the world is changing. One of the main ways this is happening is through the digital pivot. More of us, irrespective of our particular demographic, are finding ourselves having to live and work with and in the digital space. Still, even though ‘going digital’ is one of the demands of the age we live in, many are ill-equipped to successfully navigate the space due to several reasons, including the following:

Addressing Ageism in Technology

Technological devices, software, and systems are designed with the young and unencumbered in mind. Something as simple as the size, type, and weight of fonts that we use when designing websites can prove to be a problem for the older loved ones among us who may have vision (and other coordination) problems that negatively impact their experience.

In addition to design, much of the language used in the digital space is heavily jargon-based, and out of the realm of everyday speech and experience. A great idea to tackle these problems would be to design an initiative that helps bridge the gap between our senior surfers and those creating the websites they must use. For increased impact, the project can be two-fold in nature, namely addressing the design habits of web designers, brands, businesses, and services professionals, as well as educating seniors on how they can navigate the web safely.

Increasing Digital Access for Low-Access Communities

Community spaces have always been a space for vulnerable individuals within communities to access resources that would have otherwise been out of their reach. In the digital age, this reality need not change. The fact is, even with all the technological advancements happening in our world, there is still a great disparity between the technological have’s and have not’s. This has to change.

A project that retrofits community centers (or dedicated sections of them) with the technological resources needed to participate fully in the digital paradigm, is a great one. Such a project would bring much-needed resources to the communities and people who need them the most and help lessen the disparity between those with access to technology and those without.
