However, you cannot argue that their prices keep you coming back for more – even if it takes you twice as long to get through their grocery section than it does if you went closer to home at a more expensive shop. Since getting in and out of Walmart can feel like a marathon sprint, we wanted to help you make the most of your shopping and get thru the bakery in record time with these 4 items to add to the list, grab and go (and be glad you did!)
Walmart Cakes
The cheapest prices in town and some of the best selection in town too, Walmart cakes taste great… and also do amazing with the kiddos. Walmart carries far more options for children’s designs than stores like Publix and Ingles. If you are looking for something a little harder to find, Walmart usually has you covered.
Pecan Tarts
The mini pecan tarts at Walmart will make you feel like it is Thanksgiving no matter what time of year you pick them up. Bite-size and DELICIOUS, they make a real splash at family dinners and look fabulous on party trays. If you aren’t careful you will eat them all by yourself so if you are watching your waistline make sure you’ve got someone to share them with!
Donuts
Soft and yummy, you can get 12 bakery donuts for way less than Krispy Kreme. Best of all, they are much fresher and taste better… for a fraction of the cost. Our favorites are the chocolate-dipped, but you cannot go wrong with the regular glazed. The bakery also has a selection section if you prefer a bigger variety of flavors. The sprinkles on chocolate are amazing!
Mini Pies
Looking for a made-for-one dessert to take home? Mini pies are usually about fifty cents to a dollar. For singles, the bakery area is a dream for perfect portions that still eat like they were baked from a bigger batch. The apple and pumpkin are can’t miss treats!
From the Walmart cakes to the made for one treats, even if you are in a hurry, it is worth stopping by the bakery section on your way out the door. Try these favorites if you don’t have much time but… linger a while if you do. You might just find a new favorite of your own!
