The Book of Revelation begins with the words, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it for the time is near” (1:3 KJV). It then immediately says that no one can understand this book unless God helps him. The need for a divine guide into the intricacies of these prophecies has been recognized from the earliest times. Even John himself, when he first heard these prophecies direct from Jesus’ mouth, asked if they should be recorded. Again Jesus replied, “for I tell you that whatever you write will be fulfilled because I go to My Father.” Many believe that these prophecies were intended to be revealed to the church in the last days before Jesus’ return.

End Times Bible Prophecy
The book of Revelation is full of end times prophecy, which helps to paint a picture of what to expect in the last days before Jesus returns. In it, we see descriptions of the antichrist, the mark of the beast, the great tribulation, and many other things that we can study and prepare for. Revelation is a great book to help us understand the end times and be ready because it tells us that we will never know when Jesus will return.
In Matthew 24:36, it says, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Jesus said in Zechariah 14:5, “And you will flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah. Then, Yahweh, your God will come, all his holy ones with him,” which means that if we want to escape the coming judgment, we will have to be ready and waiting for his return.
This is why studying the book of Revelation is so crucial. It says that no one will know when Jesus’ return occurs, not even the angels themselves! So what do we do? First, we must be ready at all times. We can only hope to escape the wrath of God by staying prepared for Christ’s second coming, which can happen at any moment.
