Moms of twins really have to plan everything out to a tee. You have to decide how to get to the market without a meltdown and how to drive to grandma’s without a double dose of that level 15 car-ride tantrum that always happens after 30 minutes. Going for a run with baby is tough… going for a run with twins? Even tougher. Pushing two babies plus the weight of a stroller up an incline can be exhausting and leave you feeling like you need to go off in the corner – to die. Instead, invest in the best double jogging stroller you can find and try to stick to flat spaces until the end of your workout. You can up your calorie burn by running on an incline so you should not avoid it. Instead, save the up hill climbs for last… if you do, you will avoid burnout and be able to get the most out of your workout.

Make it Fun… For All 3 of You

Babies seem to instinctively know when they are not being included. You already know what disasters that can lead to. Luckily, you can make your workouts fun for all three of you. Lifting baby while you exercise can help you build calorie burning muscle and best of all… your twins will think it is all in good fun. Shh – we won’t tell.

Enlist a Little Help

Trying to do it all alone, no matter what that is, is hard. Enlist a little help to get the time that you need to workout. Make it a ritual that you look forward to. Working out makes you feel good, relieves stress and boosts energy levels. Each of these three things are major perks for new moms. Even if you have to pay a friend to come sit for a few hours at the house, it will be well worth the 20 bucks to get away and do something good for yourself for a while. Don’t worry… the laundry pile will still be there when you get home.

From investing in the best double jogging stroller to enlisting a little help, working out with your double trouble duo can be done… and done well. When you take the time to care for yourself, you will have more energy to care for them – and ultimately, that’s your goal to begin with.
