It’s an ideal solution for those with limited time, and it allows you to decide what you really want to see and then plan your trip based on that.
Choosing the right company is important for what may be a trip lasting several weeks. Look at reviews from other travelers who have used that company, and it’s also acceptable to email the overland company with any questions you might have. Make sure you know what’s included, in terms of accommodation, meals and anything else and make sure you know what to expect. You may be sharing a tent or cheap hotel room with someone you’ve never met, or helping to prepare a meal once a week at the campsite. Overlanding isn’t for everyone, but for many it can be a life changing experience.
