When Life Throws You Dark Stout Backwoods

Dark Stout Backwoods are such powerful cigars. They have an extreme aroma of cocoa and coffee. They’re perfect when you’re trapped in the backwoods with no coffee to wake you up in the morning.

Sooner or later, life offers us a challenge. And so, as the saying goes, when life throws you lemons, make lemonade. Dark Stout Backwoods are premium cigars. If you’re a smoker, you’ll definitely thank someone who gives you some of those.

But what if you’re not? Are you just to pass up the opportunity? Survivalists say no. Survival training requires that you take what is given and make it work for you.

When you’re in dire straights, you rarely have much of a choice. Let’s say you’re trapped beneath an earthquake rubble with only a flashlight in hand. What do you do? You turn it into a weapon to help you survive.

By instinct, you’ll probably turn it on, flashing it wildly while you scream your way to a rescue. Hopefully, someone will find you. But what if the rescue team takes a day or more to get to your location?

Then you’d wish that you had something that you could eat. Cigars are not good. But when push comes to shove, they will do to keep you nourished until your rescuers get to you.

Never mind if tobacco can have an unpleasant effect on your health in the long run. What matters is that right at this very moment, when you’re trapped under a rubble with no one else in sight, your singular mission is to survive. The cocoa flavor in the smoke can give you some temporary sustenance. On the other hand, the caffeine in the cigar can help keep you awake while you wait around indefinitely for help.

For now, you don’t have to eat your shirt to keep the gnawing hunger at bay. Eating rocks or dirt at this critical juncture can prove deleterious to your health so hold off on that. On the other hand, miners who had been trapped for long periods of time had been known to eat their clothing and survived to tell the tale.

Extreme circumstances call for extreme measures. You can say don’t do this or that at home but there comes a time when you get caught in a situation where you can’t respond the way you normally would.

Like a hostage situation, for instance. When you’re the victim, you must try to escape as soon as possible. No matter how much your captor promises that you will not be harmed, you need to assume the worst. For in this case, promises are simply meant to lull you into a false sense of hope.
