Just what is civil construction? This particular type of construction refers to the actual construction work that goes along with civil engineering. This type of engineering refers to any project that falls under infrastructure as a local, state, or federal project. This could be a bridge, dam, canals, or highway building or repair. The engineering side is figuring out the design, the materials, and how a project needs to be built to get done efficiently and effectively.

These contracts are generally given out to private construction companies through a bidding system. Each company bids on what the cost for them to do the job is and the government agency awarding the contract picks a bid based on cost, experience, and trust to get the work done.
