A Brief On Micro Irrigation Fittings

Micro irrigation is applying small amounts of water frequently to plants, usually in discrete drops or streams. These drips or streams are delivered to the plants via emitters placed along the water delivery line. These emitters are available at local retail stores or online. Micro irrigation fittings can come in various shapes and sizes depending on the type of irrigation system used.

Barbed irrigation fittings

Barbed micro irrigation fittings are a cheap and convenient way to connect drip irrigation systems to various pipe types. Barbed fittings are easy to install and can be used on 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ tubing. They are designed to fit over the opening of the tubing and hold securely in low-pressure drip irrigation systems. However, they are not reusable and will weaken the tubing over time.

Nozzle adapters

If you’re using micro irrigation fittings in your garden, you can adapt the nozzles to fit your existing system. These nozzle adapters fit 1/4-inch drip emitters to standard 1/2-inch irrigation risers. They have a long lifespan and are easy to install.

Flush caps

Micro irrigation fittings flush caps are designed for the end of drip lines or tubing. They automatically flush the line when the water pressure is too high and close when it drops below. This type of fitting is compatible with 3/4″ poly tubes.

Inline valves

When choosing an irrigation valve, it is important to know the right size for the particular application. Unfortunately, most people make the mistake of assuming that a one-inch PVC pipe requires a one-inch valve. This is a mistake that can cause major issues with your irrigation system.

Multi-zone manifolds

Multi-zone manifolds for micro-irrigation fittings come in a variety of designs. The most popular are solenoid valve manifold assemblies. These are used for multiple zones of underground sprinkler systems. An irrigation controller typically controls them. Many of these controllers are WIFI enabled and come with accessories for water conservation. For example, the manifold’s flow per zone must not exceed 180 gph to ensure the water is not wasted.

Eco-mat

Eco-Mat micro irrigation fittings provide subsurface drip irrigation with maximum efficiency and flexibility. They work with the capillary action of the soil to quickly distribute water, eliminating surface water. These fittings can be customized to fit any area from 4″ to 12″ in depth.

Eco-wrap

Eco-wrap micro irrigation fittings are environmentally friendly for delivering water to your plants. They are made with fleece-wrapped inline emitter tubing for uniform water distribution. They save water and reduce the risk of overspray. This type of irrigation is perfect for areas that are hard to irrigate.
