The Meeting Room Manager Explained: SO YOUR BUSINESS HAS GROWN TO THE EXTENT YOU HAVE ORE THAN ONE FLOOR OF MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES OR CLIENTS, OR EVEN TO THE EXTENT ACROSS MANY CITY BLOCKS, STATES OR EVEN COUNTRIES.
With this in mind having a meeting is not as simple as just meeting in the board room and the manager chatting away, with half the staff asleep. NO!
Now you need a Meeting Room Manager!
SO WHAT CAN THEY DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS:
- 1 – ORGANIZE, ORGANIZE, ORGANIZE! from preparing the handout sheets or discs to making sure all the right people had the right info, to set up presentations either via internet-connected screens or video presentations as well as video conference conferences to the new ZOOM video connections
- 2 – CREATE CONNECTIONS: making sure all members of the upcoming meeting not only knows when it will be but will make sure they know what is required from each of them from what and if they have to say if interactive or just to sit and take notes or record the meeting if it is a non-interactive just report back type meeting.
If you have a multi-global company with companies in countries that don’t always speak English, they make sure interpreters or interpreter ( preferred ) programs are ready and in working order so everyone understands what is being said whether interactive or not.
- 3 – PRESENTATIONS: even though many companies have these long meetings which might span the globe and is interactive and requires the input of all attendees, there will always be presentations involved before the meeting really begins or even the fact that the meeting can get based on these presentations and it is the job these managers are the ones that must make sure all these are in place so that the meeting can be run as smooth as possible without any hiccups.
- 4 – CLEAN UP PROFESSIONAL: Like all meetings. when done everyone just gets up and leaves and it is the responsibility of the manager to make sure everything is cleaned up and ready for the next meeting whether within the next hour or so or next week.
So these managers do play important roles to make sure your meetings run smoothly and successfully as meetings can make or break company no matter what the business, but the most important part of the manager’s job is to adapt to the company and do his or her above duties in a way or manner that follows the companies bylines.
