Blue Eye Contacts, if you watched a movie about Paul Newman or Frank Sinatra what is the first thing you will look for?
His eyes right?
And why do you think you do?
Because it is what they are known for. the astonishing blue eyes, so wouldn’t it be sad to watch a movie about them and here the actor has brown or black eyes?
NO, this will not work with today’s moviegoers.
If the character portrayed in the movie has long hair, then the actor should have long hair!
If the character has a muscular and large body, so should the actor
If the character portrayed is tall and fat, well once again so should the actor.
So when it comes to portraying ICONS in movies something as simple as Blue Eye Contacts which they are known for is important, very important.
In the past this used to cost movies many hours of actor searching with the same color eyes (even sometimes using inferior actors) or if they cannot find one they have to use special effects which drove up the costs of the movie or just plain shoot the movie without having close-ups of the eyes so that you can’t see the blue!
BUT, now with the advancement in technology in the production of contact lenses and the actual makeup artists studying contact lens practices as part of the career, they can now make any color contact and can be safe to use on any actor or actress without damaging the actor or actress eyeballs or sight or costing the movie company millions in damages or creating the proper eye color effect.
We have learned before about non-correction vision lenses and the advancements in it, even the fact that the FDA and some medical professionals are assisting in these cosmetic lenses, and these all get passed on to the make-up artists when they go for the classes or training to create a safe usage and product for the actors and actresses.
So if you are not a professional actor or actress that has a trained professional inserting yours or taking care or it, make sure you see a medical professional about taking care of it, inserting it, and removing it as well as what is safe to use as per the materials used (it must breathe as your eyeball must breathe) as well as the shape and is not damaged as all this can lead to permanent damage even blindness.
