Ant infestation can be annoying because they also spread bacteria, there are different types of ants that infest homes and they include:
Crazy ants
They are red in color and they don’t usually move in a straight line. The other type of ants is carpenter ants, these are the largest type of ants and they do not usually live inside human homes.

There are also Argentine ants which are typically from Argentina, and they are dark brown in color. They normally come inside the house to look for water, and they also like nesting on leftovers that have spilled in the kitchen and other food stuff that has sugar.
Fire ants are also another types of ants that infest homes, they are red in color and they are usually found in driveway or in the grass. They usually bite and cause a very sharp and hot sting. They typically build mounds, and like staying in areas that are sunny and hot.

When there is always food left out
Ants usually need food and water to survive just like any living species, when there is always food left on the floor or on the kitchen surface, they will find it easy to enter the house.
Greasy surfaces also another reason why ants maybe attracted in the house. The greasy surfaces are usually behind the stove, and on the sides storage containers.
Garbage that has not been emptied can easily attract ants, and especially if there are cans of soda or food or anything that contains sugar.
Ways of keeping ant infestation away include
Clean the kitchen all the times and ensure that there are no spills, keep fruits in the fridge and always store food in containers that are air tight. Another way is by using herbs like bay leaves because their smell usually keeps ants away.
The other way is by making sure to wipe off containers that are used to store honey sugar and anything sweet. Wiping the stove top is also important because this helps to eliminate anything that attracts the ants inside the house.
Emptying and cleaning the garbage bins is another is always important because it helps to minimize ant infestation.
