Flow state is a mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what they are doing. Flow occurs when someone’s skill level matches the challenge at hand, and their sense of self-consciousness disappears. This hack will provide you with three ways to hack flow state for your benefit or that of others around you who may need some help finding this mental balance!
Turn off all distractions. The flow requires a high level of concentration and an absence of distraction, so close out your apps and put your phone away! If you’re doing this for yourself at home, then be sure that there are no potential interruptions from siblings or pets running around the house.
Make sure that your body is comfortable:
Make sure that your chair has good back support and that it lets you lean forward without straining your lower back.
Take frequent breaks for stretching or just standing up.
Drink plenty of water and get enough sleep.
Find an activity that’s engaging but relaxing: this could be anything from reading a book to playing Tetris on the computer, as long as it doesn’t require too much thought.
Take care of yourself outside work: eat well, exercise, and get enough sleep.
Make a schedule: set aside a certain number of hours each day or week to hack the flow state, then stick to it.
