Things To Consider When Designing Netball Uniforms For Your Team

Netball is a popular sport amongst women. It is played both professionally and on an amateur level. When choosing netball uniforms, you’ll have a lot to take into consideration. For starters, your uniforms should be practical as well as comfortable. This means that you’ll need to pay extra attention when choosing the fabric to use for each uniform, keeping in mind the needs of individual team members.

Style and Design

When it comes to choosing the style and design of your netball uniforms, it would be better if you engaged each member of the team for ideas. The design should be based on your team’s existing colors such as the school’s theme. You could also go for unique colors that will stand out from the rest. Just be careful not to clash them.

Measurements

Netball uniforms that are either too tight or too loose will make the players uncomfortable, lowering their performance on the field. Take each player’s measurements into consideration when designing each uniform to ensure it is a perfect fit.

Shoes

Just like the rest of the outfit, shoes should be comfortable and easy to walk or run with. Go for absorbent shoes which will keep the player dry during the play. The shoes should also fit well if the player is to perform well during a game. This will both improve performance as well as reduce the risk of penalties during the game.

Material

The material used for the uniforms should be easy to clean, durable and breathable. There are many different materials to choose from, the most common ones being Lycra, polyester and Meryl. Polyester is known for its absorbent qualities and durability, and is probably the most common in netball kits. Meryl provides comfort and manages moisture very well. Lycra is mostly used to make body suits, tops and shorts as it makes it easy for the player to move around.

Supplier

With so many suppliers to choose from, finding uniforms for your netball team shouldn’t be that difficult. However, it would be wise to go for a supplier that offers a wide range of uniforms to choose from. For instance, it would be better to work with someone that offers both ready-made and custom uniforms.

To be on an even safer side, find a company that provides in-house designers who are able to get an idea of what you are looking for and bring it to life.
